But that was only the start of the trouble, for with Jennings in charge as chief (secret) pigeon-fancier the security arrangements for tending the bird's welfare became complicated to the point of chaos. Indeed, a diversity of people ranging from the local newspaper reporter to an inspector of woodworm became unwittingly involved in some aspect of the developments before the prigeon was finally restored to its owner... |
