Almost very good condition. Orange cloth, gilt title to spine and embossed design to front cover. Green endpapers. Colour and b/w illustrations. 118 pages. Colophon at rear states "Bound by The Book Press, New York", making this the second printing of the first edition.

Spine and corners bumped, some grubby marks to covers. Foxspots to pastedowns and to outer page edges. One plate has a very slightly ragged edge a outer millimeter (it just sticks out past the rest of the textblock). Contents clean.

Roald Dahl was originally going to write about a giant cherry, but changed it to James and the Giant Peach because a peach is "prettier, bigger and squishier than a cherry.
