THE HOUSE SPARROW (NMN 19)

by J.D. Summers-Smith

Published by Collins. 1967

Slightly better than very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. A 'New Naturalist' monograph no. 19. Green cloth. 32 b/w photographs 36 text figures. A fascinating and scholary study of the familiar housesparrow. The housesparrow is the only branch of the important weaver family to have colonised the northern temperate zone. The author reviews the housesparrow's complex behaviour pattersn and movement and has scientifically explored the many aspects of sparrow history. Although a scientific study, this book is, nevertheless, beautifully written.
