Very good condition in a slightly better than good dustwrapper. Green boards with red titles to spine and front cover. Colour frontis. B/w illustrations. 255 pages.

A few small indentations to cover edges. Rear joint starting to crack. Top text block edge a bit grubby. Some light foxing to text block. Dustwrapper is slightly edge worn, spine and rear panel are a little grubby. Some small dots of surface paper damage to front panel. Spine is foxed on verso.

  • When Vernon-Smith, the Bounder of the Remove dropped a bombshell by announcing that he was going to cut the Courtfield soccer match, Harry Wharton, Captain of the Remove, was in a spot. Strong opposition from his form-mates forced Smithy to change his mind, but by then Wharton was too angry to take him on again. That set the team against their captain and several refused to plat in the match; which is how Billy Bunter stepped into the team. Not unnaturally Grey friars suffered a resounding defeat.
