Good condition. With map engraved expressly for the work. Preface: 'A reprint of the description of several places in this County as given in the Post Office Directory, and is produced in this form to meet the wishes of persons who, not requiring varied information given in the Directory, wish to possess a small and inexpensive work giving short descriptions of all the places within the County.' Red cloth, gilt titles. Fold out map. Text block is red. 455 pages.
Boards browned and marked, top & tail of spine and corners worn with some fraying. Small name in red ink to front endpaper. Inscription in pencil across the title page. Map torn to marin and top fold (no loss), small stain to vertical margin (not affecting map). Some hinges pulled but binding tight. A few fox spots throughout. Pencil annotations to rear endpapers.
