Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. Grey boards, red title to spine, top edge red. 4 b/w illustrations. 160 pages.

Spine bumped and very slightly darkened. Cover edges browned. A few small indentations along bottom edge of front cover. Front joint ever so slightly cracked. Some foxing, mainly to page edges. Slight browning to endpapers. Dustwrapper is edge worn with a few small tears. Spine and parts of rear panel browned as is some of verso.

  • It was purely by chance that the stray homing pigeon chose an attic windowsill at Linbury Court School as a temporary roosting place - an unfortunate choice, as it happens as the attics were out of bounds for boys.
  • But that was only the start of the trouble, for with Jennings in charge as chief Isecret) pigeon-fancier the security arrangements for tending the bird's welfare became complicated to the point of chaos. Indeed, a diversity of people ranging from the local newspaper reporter to an inspector of woodworm became unwittingly involved in some aspect of the development before the pigeon was finally restored to its owner.
