Good condition. The very first Rupert annual and the first Rupert book to be illustrated by Alfred Bestall. Red cloth with illustration of Rupert sitting reading on front cover. Black, red and white illustrations. The first time Rupert appeared wearing his now famous red jumper. (Tourtel's Rupert was dressed in blue). 124 pages. First story is Rupert and the Wonderful Kite.
Spine and corners bumped, a few small dents to cover edges. Covers faded and a bit grubby, a few light spots to spine. Book leans to one side a little. Name in belongs to box. Some hinges are cracked. Top of rear joint cracked. A few small margin tears. A little light foxing to endpapers and some grubby marks to the contents but generally they are clean.
